Yassas from Corfu!

Some places make perfect connections. Others make you wonder why you were ever in such a hurry to leave.

Corfu was meant to be my transition between Italy and Albania. Instead, I wandered through its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, climbed the Venetian Old Fortress, and was thoroughly entertained watching planes land over the water in Kanoni.

Then I spotted people floating below the fortress walls. Obviously, I had to find my way down. A little while later, I was floating in the impossibly clear Ionian Sea, looking up at centuries of history and wondering why I ever thought Corfu was simply a stop along the way.
